Holiday Nowruz is the symbol of love, wealth and happiness. On this day people forgive all the insults to each other and jump over the holiday fire, hoping to erase all the bad things out of their hearts. Nowruz has more than 3000 years of history, and 2.5 million people around the world celebrate this holiday. Nowruz is the time of year when the various civilizations and cultures come together.

Very excited that this holiday is celebrated in Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Georgia, Iraq, Tatarstan, Dagestan, Russia, India, Nepal, Egypt and Syria. In Turkey, they call this holiday “Sulton Novruz”, in Afghanistan “Nowruz of farmers” and celebrate this festival for up to seven days.
In Tajikistan, three days before Nowruz, people clean their homes and prepare food. As Rajabova Salima, a chairman of the Board of mahalla (community) says, people have festive tables, called haftsin and haftshin. This means 7 title of food that starts with Arabic letters Sin and Shin. But the main food is sumanak, which is made from wheat. They say that if festive table will be full of fruits and sweets the year will be successful. In addition, people looking to get rid of poverty, pain and sin, jump through the fire.
Young and old go for a walk in the fields and gardens these days. Teens race in competitions such as wrestling, play with eggs, buzkashi (this game resembles Polo on horseback). Everywhere sounds tanbur dutar karnay-surnay, daf and doira (a national musical instruments of the Tajiks). Girls, who want to find a partner for life, go with girlfriends to ride on the swing.
Flowers of hope and love are blooming in the hearts of the people.
Nowruz is one of the brightest and most important celebrations that reach us from immemorial time.
Maryambonui Farghoni, tajik poet and writer says that:
“The word Nowruz first appeared in Persian sources in the second century AD, but this holiday was celebrated during the Achaemenian dynasty Achaemenid era, 648-330 BC. In this Day kings from different nations under the Persian empire used to bring gifts to the Emperor, also called King of Kings (Shahanshah), of Persia on Nowruz. The significance of Nowruz in the Achaemenid empire was such that the great Persian king Cambyses II’s appointment as the king of Babylon was legitimized only after his participation in the New Year festival (Nowruz).
Created a lot of great work by great Persian scholars and poets such as Abdulkasim Firdausi, Abdurrahman Al-Biruni, Omar Khayam, Sadriddin Ayni and others based on history of Nowruz, about the origins of this holiday and time of it celebration. According to their statements, as well as the name of the holiday Nowruz is “New day”, which is a new year and coincides with the first day of the month in the beginning of the month of Farvardeen ancient Hamal (Aries) on 21 March, the solar calendar and the Gregorian calendar.
According to Shahnameh of Ferdowsi, Nowruz was known even to the first King of ancient- Kaûmars.”
Believed to be the first who celebrated Nowruz was legendary Jamshid Shah of Iran.
Today, this Aryan feast is celebrated in the Europe and America. This is due to the fact that The UN’s General Assembly in 2010 recognized the International Day of Nowruz, describing it a spring festival of Persian origin. During the meeting of The Inter-governmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Heritage of the United Nations, held between 28 September – 2 October 2009 in Abu Dhabi, Nowrūz was officially registered on the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
